Kirsty Howat’s second-half strike was the difference at the Excelsior Stadium and Hill believes the squad did all the right things to secure a win in the final Old Firm derby of the league campaign.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, she said: “It is a massive three points, we obviously know what the league table looks like and we knew going into tonight that we had to win.
“I think too many times this season as soon as that injury time goes up, we panic, and I am just so proud of how we handled the end of the game there. We didn't panic, we did the right things and we've hopefully learned from mistakes - it is a massive win.
“Overall, we were quite pleased with our performance. I don't think Celtic caused us too many issues going forward, but I feel like that has been the case. At half-time we were pretty pleased, we tidied up a few things, obviously again we had to manage the game.”
The centre-back praised the whole squad as a strong defensive display saw Gers keep a clean sheet in Airdrie.
She continued: “I thought we dealt with set-pieces well, I know they had one chopped off but I thought we were really good in those set-pieces and they didn't really get in behind us too much.
“We know their threats but defensively as a team and from the front I thought everything was spot on tonight.”
On Howat’s goal, Hill was delighted to see it hit the back of the net to edge Rangers in front. She said: “I know she [Howat] will have enjoyed that one, it was a great finish, when it hit the post I thought here we go again but I am so happy it hit the back of the net and I am so pleased for her because she works so hard and I know what this club means to her and what that goal means.”
Next up for Rangers is a trip to Edinburgh to face Hibs on Sunday and Hill insists they will need to show the same attitude heading into another tricky league fixture.
She added: “We are in a mindset now where it is just one game at a time, we have got the three points tonight we need to recover now. It is quite a short turn around into Sunday and again it'll be a really tough place to go so we need to show the same attitude and do what we did tonight.”
