On the start of a new SWPL season, the Gers found themselves 1-0 down away at Montrose before the striker inspired them to a comeback success by marking the opener with a hat-trick for the second campaign running.
Speaking to RangersTV to reflect on her match ball display including a fantastic free kick to level up proceedings, she said: “To be honest I was disappointed with the first free kick that I had. I was kind of having a word with myself when I was stepping up for that second one.
“It reminded me of the Celtic one last season actually but I work on those a lot to be honest.
“To see them go in the back of the net when it matters is important to me and just to kind of get us back into the game today it felt like the lift that we needed in that moment.
“I always want to be on the scoresheet but there is 11 players on that pitch, the girls on the bench came on and played really when they came on as well and saw us through to the end of the game.
“That is what it is going to be this season, everyone is going to be play a part, everyone is going to be chipping in with the goals and the assists. It is just nice to get three points on the board to start off with.
The English forward praised the reaction from the team following the early setback, with a free flowing attacking style on display for supporters in the second 45 minutes in particular.
She continued: “You don't want to go down 1-0 at all. The fact we perhaps started a little bit slow but just to then kind of dig deep and get round each other and just trust in what we were doing.
“Turn it around 2-1 up and kind of just push on from there really.
“I think the aim today was three points. Obviously we have scored plenty of goals, conceded one, went behind to begin with but I think the character from the group just to try and get back into it and build into the game.
“The most important thing was that we took three points away from today.
Having now worked under new Head Coach Leanne Crichton for a number of weeks, the forward spoke of life under the new boss, as the team now prepare for their Ibrox bow of 2025/26 against Hearts next weekend.
She added: “Before the game she said to us three points and that is what I want. We have gone out and done that. We have got to get back in on Tuesday, keep building on it.
“We didn't get things perfect today, there is definitely things that we know in ourselves that she is going to want more from us with.
“That just takes a little bit of time and we are all buying into it, day in day out in training and it is just kind of a matter of time before we see it come to fruition a little bit more on a matchday.
“We have just got to be a little bit patient and keep working on it and keep putting three points on the board.
“We love playing at Ibrox. Home game, get the fans in and get their extra support to push us through that game.
“Again the aim will be go and get three points and hopefully that is what we go and do.”
