The striker has been a massive hit in Glasgow during her time with the Light Blues to date, becoming the club’s main source of goals and producing astonishing numbers throughout.
Having joined from English side Southampton in the summer of 2024 and known for her ability in front of goal, she showed exactly why Rangers brought her to Glasgow two years ago, with an outstanding first campaign in Scotland to follow the last campaign.
Starting as she meant to go on, she was on target on four occasions in the opening day league win over Aberdeen in the 24/25 season before going on to notch a tally of 46 goals in just 41 appearances.
In her first season in blue, she helped the team to a domestic cup double, as they made it a three-peat in the Sky Sports Cup with Wilkinson getting the scoring underway in the final in a 5-0 win over Hibs, and then going on to retain the Scottish Cup last May.
After the appointment of Leanne Crichton last summer and with several high-profile departures in the forward areas, Wilkinson has stepped up her game another level, finding the back of the net on another 40 occasions in just 35 outings.
Her performances in big games in particular have really stood out, none more so than in the Old Firm derby meetings, which have seen her score seven goals in the five games in all competitions so far.
Wilkinson was rewarded with a fine season as she was named Rangers’ Player of the Year and top goalscorer, whilst also being recognised by the external media as she was named the Football Writers’ SWPL Player of the Year.
Having now committed her future to the Gers, she will now look to fire them to Scottish Cup glory this weekend when they take on their rivals at Barclays Hampden in the showpiece final.
Speaking after signing a new deal, Wilkinson said: “I am super excited, from the minute that I walked through the doors here, I have been super happy.
“It is such a massive club to be a part of, I still feel like we have got so much to achieve together, and I think one of the most important things in football is to be happy, and I feel super happy being here, and I am excited for the next two years.”

“She has once again demonstrated the quality she brings to this team, not only through her outstanding goalscoring record, but also with her all-round contribution and leadership both on and off the pitch.
“Her standards, experience and influence within the group are invaluable, and she consistently leads by example in everything she does.
“Wilko fully deserved the recognition of winning the Football Writers’ Player of the Year award, as well as the club’s Player of the Year award, and we are looking forward to seeing her continue to play a huge role for us as we push to finish the season strongly and compete for further success.”
Women’s and Girls’ Managing Director, Donald Gillies, also said: “What more can be said about Katie other than she is an incredible player and person.
“To score more than 40 goals in a single season is no mean feat, and she has once again shown her worth to the team.
“Those numbers don’t come without suitors, and we are delighted Katie wants to stay with the club for the foreseeable future.”
