KAYLA MCCOY believes the side could have scored more goals as the striker got on the scoresheet twice in Rangers’ 4-0 SWPL win over Dundee United this afternoon.
Brought back into the starting lineup after making a cameo role from the bench in the midweek win over Aberdeen McCoy produced a solid display with both goals as the Light Blues lead 2-0 at the interval.
Speaking to RangersTV after scoring twice in the win the striker feels the side could have scored more given their efforts and states it was a real team display.
She said: “We could have scored even more; we will look back through it during the week and see where we could have done better because I think there were areas where we could have been sharper and more clinical in front of goal.
“I think when did take our chances we had some good finishes and we moved the ball really well.
“It is always good to be able to put the ball in the back of the net, obviously they were great crosses from Lizzie and Brogan to help me score so it was good.
“You always want to finish every chance that you have but not everyone is going to go in but we took the ones that we did.
McCoy has praised the energy her teammates showed and was evident in the start they made in the game and were relentless for the entire 90 minutes.
She continued: “It was a really good team performance we came out with a lot of energy and right from the start we were all over them and that is what we went into the game wanting to do.
“It was to be on top from the start and we did that and we were able to maintain it throughout the whole game so it was good.”
The forward highlighted the importance of backing up the midweek win with another victory and praised the manner of how they went about their business.
She said: “It is all about getting the next three points then the next three, we got the job done today.
“Coming up with a win in midweek and being able to do it today, it is always tough having three games in a week but we were able to get it done which was good.”
