Playing their third game of the week the Light Blues dominated throughout the 90 minutes at Gussie Park and carried on the momentum from their midweek win to make it two in a row.
Speaking to RangersTV after the game the manager was happy with his side’s control on the day and was pleased with the overall performance.
He said: “It was a solid performance, I thought we saw a similar performance to the one that we had against Motherwell.
“It is always difficult coming to these venues but I think the attitude from the girls was a relentless approach, in terms of regaining the ball back which I thought they did throughout the 90 minutes.
“We created multiple opportunities to score, the pleasing thing today was that we were a bit more clinical, in the sense that we forced the goalkeeper to make numerous saves and still managed to win comfortably.”
Thomson was delighted with his side’s intensity from the off as the Gers started the game impressively and remained on top throughout.
He continued: “Right from the first whistle we played with that intent to try win the ball as high up the park as we could.
“We were more assured in terms of how we shifted the ball about the park and we were patient.
“We spoke at half time just to have a bit more calmness on the ball and the certainly proved that in the second half.”
The manager was happy with the quality of goals on display once again as his side made it eight on target in their last two outings.
He said: “There was some good finishing, but there were lots of chances that were created and I am pleased with that, their goalkeeper has had a fantastic game and we have managed to force saves out of her.”
Thomson has stressed the importance of building on from the victory in midweek as Rangers now look ahead to a home clash with Hibs on Thursday night.
He continued: “It is about momentum we just need to keep this going, talking about scorelines and creating chances but it is irrelevant in terms of the scoreline as long as we have won.
“As long as we have got three points going into this split that is all we are concerning ourselves with.“
“Thursday night becomes a different challenge, but that is the nature of football and that is what the girls are going through just now is the expectation levels.
“The more successful that they become the more expectation levels is put upon them, and it goes to show there that the better they play the more I have that expectation level and want that similar performance again and again.”
