The Jamaica international has had a difficult few months since signing for Rangers in the summer but now hopes she can put her injury behind her and build confidence with the squad.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time she said: “I have been out with an injury for a little while so it feels really good to come back into the starting line-up and then obviously to get three goals I was buzzing about that so it was really good.
“For me it is about getting over that mental barrier and getting goals is the best way to do that and for me to build confidence and get back to being comfortable on the pitch.
“It is an easy group to settle into. It is a great group of girls and the training level is high so it has been a very easy transition for me.”
It was a strong team performance this afternoon as the Light Blues won 8-0 at Rangers Training Centre.
McCoy believes the strong start was vital as Gers opened the scoring after only two minutes, she said: “We came out and started really really strong. In the past we have come out a bit nervy and maybe a bit frantic but I think today we settled right away and we handled it really well.
“Throughout the entire game, even when subs came on, the levels stayed high and I think we did well with that. We have some things to improve on and learn from but overall we are very happy with the result.
“The depth of the squad is great, Malky can put any team out on the day and it is going to be a strong team. I think that says a lot about the players that have been brought in and the type of training sessions we have that we are constantly challenging each other.”
