The Jamaica international joined Malky Thomson’s side over the summer break and has enjoyed settling into pre-season with the squad.
With last weekend’s match against Partick Thistle postponed, McCoy says excitement has continued to build ahead of the league campaign. Speaking to RangersTV, she said: “Pre-season was really good, obviously we had a lot of games and everyone is pleased with where we are at.
“With last week's game being called off I think everyone was excited going into that game and that excitement has just continued to build. There will be a lot of people wanting to get the season off to a good start and the mood is really high going into this weekend.
“We enjoy playing with each other and if we can carry that momentum into the season we will really set ourselves up well.”
McCoy is enjoying the competitive environment at Rangers as the American-born forward settles into life on and off the pitch.
She continued: “I was in training for a few months at the end of last season so that really helped me to come in and have that baseline comfort level and be able to play and perform right away.
“It is always tough adjusting to a new country and a new team and it takes time but having that couple of months has really helped me out.
“You want to give the coaches tough decisions about who is going to play and the fact that we do have so many talented players in every single position just elevates the level.
“It raises the competition and forces everyone to stay sharp, stay prepared and be at their best at all times.”
