Kevin Thomson Praises Rangers B Team

KEVIN THOMSON has praised his young Rangers B team for standing up to the challenge of Queen’s Park in this afternoon’s 0-0 draw in the Glasgow Cup.

It was a hard-fought game for the Light Blues who defended well to keep the League Two side at bay.

Thomson was impressed with the battling performance from Rangers during their first competitive game after the break.

Speaking to RangersTV he said: “We probably rode our luck a wee bit at times we were relatively young but there's no excuses from me.

“At limited times we were a threat going the other way which is obviously important.

“It is what we want, we want to see our players attack, we want to see a certain brand of football so I thought fair play to them - to a man they stood up today.”

With a number of corners and crosses swung into the box as Queen’s Park pressured Rangers, Thomson was pleased to keep a clean sheet.

He continued: “Nicky had a big hand in that, he made a terrific save late on. We are really pleased with the back four all the boys contributed.

“It would've been nice if we got a goal to try and put three points on the board but I'm delighted overall.”
