The striker came back into the starting line-up for the match at New Tinto Park and believes it was a strong overall performance from the squad.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, she said: “We are delighted, it was a good 5-0 win and an overall good performance.
We have had a tough game during the week with 120 minutes and we were disappointed so we wanted to kick-on today and get a win so we are delighted to be through to the next round.
“I have maybe not played as many minutes as I wanted to the past month or so but I got my chance today and I was delighted with getting the hat-trick but obviously getting through to the next round as well was really important for us.
“It was a great performance and there were a lot of changes which was good for the girls who needed minutes. It just shows the strength and depth that we have in the squad and anyone that comes on or starts can do a job for us and you saw that today.”
Howat says it was important the squad kept going until the end as they again showed their relentless attitude against the SWPL 2 side.
She continued: “We went right to the end, that is something we try to work on. Especially after playing Motherwell we maybe took our foot off the gas a little bit last Sunday so we spoke on that and there were a lot of tired legs and bodies out there, me included, but I think right to the end we gave everything.”
With the squad now on an international break, Howat wished good luck to her teammates representing their country over the next week or so, adding: “We wish the girls going away the best of luck and it is an honour for them to go and represent their country.
"There will be a group of us here working hard behind the scenes not looking towards any games but we obviously have Hibs in a few weeks so we will keep training and keep preparing looking ahead to that game.”
