The forward was the league’s standout performer last month, helping Rangers to pick up seven points out of nine in league action, as well as claim a third Sky Sports Cup in a row.
The 27-year-old contributed four goals in as many games throughout, which included a brace in the 8-0 win over Motherwell and an assist in the league victory over Hearts at Ibrox as the Light Blues rounded off for the international break in style.
Rangers’ highlight of the month came at Fir Park as they claimed silverware success once again, with the striker putting on a player of the match display in front of 4000 supporters watching on as she scored the fourth goal in the 5-0 victory over Hibs.
Gers loanee Sophie Townsley has also claimed the March award for SWPL 2, as she continues to impress with her showings for Hamilton in a month where she scored seven goals in just four outings.
Howat spoke to RangersTV after winning the award for the third time in her career, after winning twice back-to-back last season, she said: “I am obviously delighted, it was a nice surprise when I got told.
“It is always an honour to win a personal award but I think as a team we have had a really good March so it is mainly down to all the girls and the staff and the performances that we have put in across the month of March.
“I am really happy to receive it.”
