The Light Blues fought back from a 1-0 deficit away to their Old Firm rivals for the second time this campaign to prevail 3-2, with the Scotland international finding the back of the net once again in this fixture.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory, the 18-year-old couldn’t help but salute the resilience of the side: “I felt that we put in a good performance.
“There were obviously aspects that we can improve on, but over the course of the 90 minutes I felt that we dominated the game and we deserved to win.
“We’ve spoken before about the mentality and the spirit within the team.
“Our attitude when things didn’t go our way and we came back from it. It was most important to show our resilience in the game.
“Jo instils it into us all the time because it’s an important quality to have as a team. Our attitude was spot on tonight.”
Indeed, it was the same duo who undone Celtic in the league fixture back in October who were on the scoresheet for the Gers in Lanarkshire, succeeding Kathryn Hill’s second half leveller.
Maclean says she couldn’t have picked a better time to write her name on the scoresheet, with Rio Hardy’s stoppage time penalty later sending the travelling Rangers support into a frenzy.
The teenager now says all focus shifts back to league action as the Gers will learn of their opponents in the final when Hibernian and Partick Thistle meet on Sunday.
She continued: “It’s a good game to score in, and it being a rivalry obviously makes it a bit more special too. But a goal is a goal in the end, and I’ll take it.
“It was never in doubt when it was Rio. Her composure on the ball is different class, and she’s done it all season.
“We need to keep our feet on the ground and take each game as it comes.
“We’ve got a final to look forward to now, but we go back into league action next week and that’s what we’ll be focussed on.”
