The Light Blues fell behind at Petershill Park but goals from Kirsty Howat and Rio Hardy either side of the half-time interval turned the game on its head.
It was a pivotal three points for Jo Potter’s side who leapfrogged both last night’s opponents and Hibernian to the summit of the SWPL table.
Speaking to RangersTV after the triumph, the midfielder commented: “We’re over the moon.
“We disappointed ourselves on Sunday, so we wanted to prove a point coming here tonight, and I think we done that.
“It’s always hard to go 1-0 down, but we’ve got it within us to come back.
“I think it’s happened a few times this season, but we know ourselves that we can just get together and not allow it to affect us.
“Kirsty had a great strike again to get us the equaliser.
“Jo told us [at half-time] to keep doing what we were doing.
“As much as we went into half-time and the result was 1-1, we were still on top.
“She told us to keep going and not let them get back into it.”
Rangers are back in action this Sunday as they make the trip to Meadowbank to face Hibernian, themselves challenging at the top of the table this campaign.
And Maclean says it’s important that the Gers build on last night’s commanding performance.
She added: “City are a great side and they were top of the table, but as a team we put in a really good performance.
“Every game between now and the end of the season is a cup final. They are all massive.
“We know going away to City was going to be tough – and we know it will be the same on Sunday.
“We had a hard game against them in the cup final and hopefully we can do that again.
“Our fitness levels are great and that’s all down to the sports science and the training that we put in week in, week out.”
