Latest Rangers Loan Review

RANGERS have a number of players out on loan across the Men's and Academy sides at present and here’s our review of how each of those in action fared over the weekend.

Ross McCausland – Winger – Aris Limassol

Ross started and played the full 90 minutes for Aris in their goalless draw with Olympiakos Nicosia.

It was a return to action for the side following the winter break, with the Northern Irish international having made successive starts for his loan outfit.

Oscar Cortes – Winger – Sporting Gijon

Oscar was an unused substitute for Sporting Gijon as they fell to defeat at home to Malaga.

The winger’s last action came in cup duty against Valencia last month as he looks to work his way back into the starting lineup.

Paul Nsio – Midfielder – Raith Rovers

Paul was a second half substitute for Raith in their goalless draw with Airdrieonians on Saturday afternoon.

The midfielder has made double digit appearances for the Stark’s Park outfit as they target a push up the Scottish Championship table.

Jack Wyllie – Defender – Kelty Hearts

Jack was an unused substitute for Kelty as they played out a 1-1 draw with Alloa Athletic on Saturday afternoon.

The side fell behind in the contest before restoring parity in the second half to secure a valuable point.

Calum Adamson – Alloa Athletic

Calum was on the scoresheet for Alloa in the draw away to Kelty Hearts at the weekend.

It was a terrific strike from the midfielder who picked up the ball 25 yards out before striding forward and powering an unerring strike under the goalkeeper and into the far corner.

Lewis Stewart – Winger – Alloa Athletic

Lewis, in the meantime, started and featured for the full 90 minutes in the draw.

The winger started on the right-hand side of the attack and was a threat all afternoon in the contest.

Callum Burnside – Winger – Alloa Athletic

Callum extended his loan with Alloa Athletic on Saturday afternoon and started in the draw.

The winger has been in terrific form for the Wasps in the first half of the campaign as Andy Graham’s side target promotion this term.

Josh Gentles – Forward – Alloa Athletic

After being recalled from his loan with Raith Rovers, Josh will spend the remainder of the season with Alloa Athletic in League One as part of the club’s co-operation agreement with the Wasps.

The teenage forward impressed for Alloa in the second half of last season and will hope to rekindle his form with so much left to play for this campaign.

Lyle Wark – Defender – Forfar Athletic

Lyle was on the substitutes bench for Forfar as they played out a 1-1 draw with Clyde.

The young full-back has featured prominently for the League Two side this campaign in his first spell in senior football.

Blaine McClure – Midfielder – Nottingham Forest Under-21s

Nottingham Forest Under-21s’ campaign is currently on pause amid the winter break, with Blaine on the scoresheet in his final appearance of the year last month.

The midfielder netted the solitary goal in a 1-0 victory over Wolves in Premier League Cup action.
