Latest Rangers Loan Review

RANGERS have a number of players out on loan across the Men's and Academy sides at present and here’s our review of how each of those in action fared over the weekend.

Ross McCausland – Winger – Aris Limassol

Ross was a half-time substitute for Aris Limassol as they produced a 1-0 victory over AEK Larnaca in league action.

The Northern Irish winger was introduced at the interval as his side struck the winning goal with five minutes remaining in the contest.

Ben Davies – Defender – Oxford United

Ben played 120 minutes for Oxford United as they prevailed in a dramatic penalty shootout over MK Dons in FA Cup action.

After the two sides were unable to be separated in normal time, Ben’s side edged the shootout to seal their place in the next round of the prestigious competition.

Leon King – Defender – Ayr United

Leon started and played the full 90 minutes for Ayr United in their 1-1 draw with Airdrieonians.

The Honest Men were back in action after last weekend’s postponement as Leon produced another strong display as part of a three-man defensive line.

Paul Nsio – Midfielder – Raith Rovers

Paul was a second half substitute for Raith as they were defeated at home to Arbroath in the Scottish Championship.

The midfielder has featured prominently for the Stark’s Park side who will be keen to return to winning ways in their next outing.

Jack Wyllie – Defender – Kelty Hearts

Jack was an unused substitute for Kelty as they tasted defeat away to Queen of the South.

The side have won just once in the league since September but find themselves only three points adrift of Hamilton Academical in ninth place.

Lyle Wark – Defender – Forfar Athletic

Lyle was on the substitutes bench for Forfar in their 2-1 defeat to Stranraer on Saturday afternoon.

The young full-back is closing in on double digit appearances for the League Two side in his first campaign in senior football.

Blaine McClure – Midfielder – Nottingham Forest Under-21s

Blaine started for Nottingham Forest Under-21s as they turned in an impressive 3-0 away victory over Blackburn Rovers last night.

The midfielder has established himself in the Forest side in recent weeks as they enjoy a rich of vein of form.

Lucy Livie – Winger- Boroughmuir Thistle

Lucy was introduced as a 66th minute substitute during Boroughmuir’s first outing of 2026 as they dropped out of the Scottish Cup at the hands of top flight side Partick Thistle.

Her team will quickly switch their focus back to league proceedings this weekend when they host Gartcairn at Meadowbank.

Sophie Rutherford – Winger- Queen’s Park

Sophie also made an appearance off the bench for her respective club as Queen’s Park’s cup run came to an end with a heavy defeat to Glasgow City at the weekend.

They go to East Fife in their first league outing of the new year on Sunday, where they will be targeting a strong second half of the season to try earn promotion back to the SPWPL at the first time of asking.
