The Gers raced out to a five-goal lead in a ruthless first-half showing and were propelled on the day by Katie Wilkinson who netted four times.
Crichton also welcomed back Brogan Hay, while Jodi McLeary made her first start of the campaign after injury sidelined the midfielder during UEFA Champions League qualifying.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, the head coach commented: “I’m really pleased with the result and certain elements of the performance.
“I thought some of the goals were really top class with the way that we moved it. When we moved it properly today, the goals were the outcome.
“We left it a little bit late on last week in terms of the goals, and we wanted to make sure it wasn’t the same today.
“We knew Spartans would make it difficult for us, a newly promoted side and their first test against top six opposition, and we had every bit of respect for how they would come here and look to try and frustrate us.
“We want to make Broadwood a really difficult venue and that was the message to the players. I thought they gave us that very early on.
“There were real positives in Brogan [Hay] coming back from injury, Jodi [McLeary] coming back who was really influential in that first half.
“She had three goal involvements and a few other cracking moments.
“The strength in depth of the group today is also pleasing and I can make those types of changes as the game goes on and we can finish the game as strong as we started.”
Rangers have netted 11 goals in their opening two league outings after hitting Montrose for four away from home last weekend.
Allied to their impressive Champions League qualifying displays, where they only missed out narrowly on advancing, Crichton says the ruthlessness at the top of the end of the pitch can only strengthen the side’s belief.
She added: “It certainly gives you that feel good factor and confidence.
“We’re a possession-based team and that’s what we’ve been known as for a whole number of years – even beyond me – but I want us to be more ruthless and having more of an attacking focus this season.
“I want us to get from A to B a lot quicker, and there were different types of styles within the seven goals.”
