Having to battle throughout, a much improved second half display helped them to a 3-0 success over Aberdeen as they maintained their impressive start to the new SWPL season.
Speaking to RangersTV to look back on the match, she commented: “Ultimately again really pleased, three points, three goals and a clean sheet is always going to be a good feeling in any matchday.
“Probably just a little frustrated that it felt like more a 45 minute performance from us.
“I thought we were just far too relaxed and just not ourselves in the first half.
“I thought we gave Aberdeen far too much respect and I don't think we asked enough questions of them, but again the type of players that we have got in the dressing room and the group that you have got and the honesty and the commitment. I think we had a few bits of debate and discussion at half time and bits of information.
“I just felt the response in the second half was night and day so it was really good to see. I think it was a real collective effort and we are pleased.
“If you can keep clean sheets in games it is great and it looks all the better.
“There has never been a pressure from me to the players that that is the expectation because we are an infantry stage and we are looking to try and build things and we don't need the pressure of that.
“We want to go play and be fluid and supportive in possession and attack up the pitch.
“There is going to be moments that you'll be caught. Those types of bits and the structure are the bits we're identifying and looking to do better, but I felt as a collective in terms of that second half performance in and out of possession we were as close to as we would have really wanted so that is really pleasing and it gives us something to build on for next week.”
The Gers were carrying a depleted squad throughout with several players on the sidelines and the Head Coach only able to name four substitutes on the day. She praised the squad for their togetherness to pull through with Laura Berry making a significant impact when called upon from the bench.
She added: “Everybody is looking to try find solutions and answers and give us everything, which they are day in day out.
“They are giving us absolutely everything, they have been learning from the minute I walked in the door, they are looking to try and imply themselves.
“They are getting better; they are getting fitter and they are getting used to the way that we want to play.
“Again it is just about that end product but we know these types of games.
“Aberdeen are a really good side; they have invested an awful lot in their women's team.
“I know Scott Booth really well and the type of manager and coach he is.
“We knew today was going to be a tough game and we had so much respect for them and the gameplan that they would bring here to try and frustrate us.
“In terms of those impact players that was the message, I know everybody wants to start every single game and the difficulty for us as staff is that you can only pick 11. We knew the quality, albeit it was not an awful lot coming off the bench today with the availability of players, but Laura [Berry] was really good when she came on.
“Obviously we get a stroke of luck in terms of the second goal and then the bit of quality over the top for Mia to go and assist the third is really good.
“Laura knows what she has done really well and that for me is really pleasing, her teammates are thankful for that because you need that when it is the type of game it is stuffy towards the end and you are looking for that energy and impact.
“She gave us that as did Nic [Docherty] coming on as well and giving us that bit of leadership and quality.
“Really pleased, everybody has come through hopefully unscathed and we keep them and wrap them and rest and recover them, we look forward to seeing them tomorrow.”
