The Gers were drawn alongside the Czech outfit, Brondby and Ajax in the mini tournament which will be hosted on home soil.
Crichton says her group are relishing the opportunity to showcase their level and believes it’s the perfect way to kick off the side’s competitive campaign.
Speaking to the media to preview the clash at Broadwood Stadium, Crichton commented: “For some it will be their first taste of European football and a different type of opponent, which, again, is about growth as a footballer and you only get better at dealing with those situations.
“Fortunately for us the group that we have are still quite young in terms of their career, and they’ve had good international experience in terms of what they’ve come up against, whether it’s friendly or competitive tournaments, and we want the players to embrace this opportunity.
“The message over the next 24 or 48 hours is that we can live in the moment but we want to set our standard and show the team we want to be this season.
“I’m probably just looking at it being a proper first game of the season for us and one we worked really hard last season to guarantee.
“It’s exciting in terms of being at home as well, and I know for the club it’s been a stretch logistically in terms of the preparations and organisation.
“But the beauty for me is I’ve been fully focussed on the game, the potential of the group, and the new players who have come in and joined us. We’re excited and ready for the game.”
Kick-off is 7:30pm between the Gers and their Czech opponents, while Ajax and Brondby will go head-to-head earlier in the day at Broadwood Stadium.
The winners of each contest will set up a showdown on Saturday evening to determine who will advance to the UEFA Champions League play-off round.
Crichton said of the challenge of Slavia Praha: “It will be a tough game. We’ve had some footage on them and we’ve tried to work as hard as we can to paint that picture, but they’ll be a tough nut to crack as these teams always are in Europe.
“But we’ve looked at them and we feel there are also vulnerabilities there that we can try and expose. Hopefully the two things marry up well.
“There won’t be any easy games, certainly first or second, and Slavia is the one we’ve prepared for wholeheartedly and one that will bring the biggest test in that opening game.”
