The Light Blues took an important three points and clean sheet on the road tonight, and the young Ger reflected on the squad’s positive play across the pitch.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV following their positive performance down at the border, he said: “We’re happy with the win, which is what we came for, I thought we controlled the game the whole way through, and it was a strong performance from the boys. It’s three points and a clean sheet, we’re happy with that.
“The two goals tonight were great, but I thought we could’ve had six or seven. We were buzzing with what we had done, and we’ll look back to see what we could’ve done better. There was great play from the boys tonight and positive feedback as well.
“We just had to play our football and control it, Gretna did cause trouble when they had the ball, but I felt that we controlled their attempts and targets, it was a strong performance and I felt what they threw at us well.
“Every match you go to you want to keep a clean sheet, it’s not just the goalkeepers and defenders, it’s the whole team that puts in a shift for it as well. We’re delighted with that.”
The young Ger took time to look ahead and express his excitement to the commencement of the UEFA Youth League group stage next week where the Rangers U19s will take on Ajax at the De Toekomst for their first match.
He added: “Were all really looking forward to it, we know it’s going to be a hard challenge and we just can’t wait to get into it. We’re in good form, it’s good momentum to take and we can’t wait to get into it and do our best.
“As long as we enjoy it and go do our best, that’s all anyone can ask for. I’m really looking forward to the tough challenges in the games to try and beat a tough opposition, we’ll go and do our best to win.”
