The young Gers will travel south of the border to take on Barry Lewtas’ squad in their next match in their European campaign, and the youngster took time to express the team’s excitement to face another challenging team on the pitch.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV ahead of their match at the Liverpool’s Academy Ground, the Light Blue said: "It’s another big match and we’re all really looking forward to it, it’ll be another tough test but one that we wanting to relish – all the lads can’t wait to get across and play.
"We had a good performance and result [against Napoli] so, it’s important that we build on that and learn from the mistakes too. It’s important to use that momentum and confidence to take into this match."
The Ger has been a key player in McCallum’s squad this season having scored a crucial goal in their victory against Napoli at Firhill last month, and he outlined the team’s key objectives as they head into this challenging fixture in the campaign.
He added: "We all just need to hit high levels both in and out of possession, it will be quite a tough game but that’s the challenges that we’re looking for as footballers. If we play well as a team and stick together then we’ll be in for a chance.
"We just have to focus on what we’re doing to concentrate on the things that we want to do right and put the game plan in what we want to do.
"We’ve had some great experiences so far; we were unlucky against Ajax but got the result against Napoli. It’s important to just build on that and have confidence from it to know that we can play at this level and enjoy the challenge."
Lindsay reiterated the importance to participate in the prestigious tournament at such a young age and outlined how the squad have been utilising their time in training in preparation for the match.
He continued: "It’s very important, it’s the highest level of youth that you can play in. To be part of this competition is a privilege and we’re all really grateful for the opportunity we’ve been given. It’s just about going and trying to grasp it now.
"We’ve been training hard and working well both on and off the pitch, we’ve had some good matches to take a lot of confidence into the game – we’re just really looking forward to it."
