LIZZIE ARNOT is relishing the opportunity to try to help Rangers get into another cup final tomorrow afternoon.
Having already claimed the Sky Sports Cup in March, the Light Blues have the chance to book their place in the Scottish Cup final by overcoming Aberdeen at the national stadium, a competition they won for the first time in their history last season.
Speaking to the official Rangers website to look ahead to the game and last year’s final, a game in which she scored the crucial second goal in, she said: “Obviously we all want to be pushing and challenging for trophies.
“Playing at Hampden is special for us as a team and we want to retain the Scottish Cup so we are all looking forward to it.
“They have got nothing to lose.
“It is a semi-final for them, just as big an occasion and they will want to showcase themselves and they will be looking at the previous games and doing everything to make sure that doesn't happen again.
“It will be a completely different game; we will go in with the same mindset and we will look to score goals like the last time but we are expecting a different opposition.
“It was really special, to score in a final is great at any time but to do it in a stadium like Hampden in front of our fans, it was a really special day.”
The winger has reflected on the side’s last outing as they suffered a 2-0 away defeat to Hibs, saying she hopes the team can learn from the wrongs of Sunday moving forward on a day she made her 150th appearance for the club.
She continued: “We knew it wasn't a good enough performance from the whole team, we just had to analyse, review it and learn from it and make sure that doesn't happen again.
“We have only got five league games left and it is important that every game we treat it the same with the same intensity and we don't come off that, we don't want to slip up again.
“It is up to us to make sure that we are not making the slip-ups to benefit other teams.
“We need to be winning every game and that is still in our hands, that is our aim.
“150th appearance? I didn't actually realise it was until the next day.
“I was disappointed from the result but it is those moments where you just realise when I look back I think that is a lot of games to be played and I am really proud of that, it was a nice moment to see that.
Following tomorrow’s last four clash, the Gers will get another opportunity to play on the famous Ibrox turf on Wednesday evening, before playing in the stadium for a fourth time during 24/25 on the final day of the season.
Arnot is hopeful their previous experience in title races can help whilst being grateful they have the chance to play there once again.
She added: “Title race? Some players have done it before, and some players have won it at other teams.
“We all know what it takes and I think it is about coming together and using the disappointment from the weekend but also the experience that we have before and we are just making sure that we go out and do the job.
“It is really good that they have given us the opportunity again to play at Ibrox.
“It is a great pitch there and hopefully we can get a good turnout of fans and make it a good day.
“The club have really helped us out towards the end of the season this year.
“To play on a beautiful grass pitch like that, that can only help us with the style that we play.
“We will just take every opportunity that we can to play in such a historic stadium like that and hopefully make good memories.”
