The Light Blues head into the last four clash against Aberdeen at Hampden Park amidst a busy spell in the SWPL season with five matches remaining, as they look to challenge on all fronts in the remainder of the campaign.
Speaking to the media in this afternoon’s press conference as her team looks to take a step closer to retaining the competition they won for the first time in their history last season, she commented: “It is a big couple of weeks coming ahead.
“We know it has been intense up to now and how competitive everything has been.
“It is probably not a bad chance for us to change our mindset and shift the competition.
“
“It is a big game; it is always important to get through to a final and it is not different for this game.
“Semi-finals are a big occasion; you have got to bring the best out of each other.
“You have got to make sure you are standing up for it.
“The whole occasion to play at Hampden will help with that as well.
“We are looking forward to it, we know we have got to produce a performance and try to get through to the next round.”
The former Lioness has spoken of the aftermath of the team’s disappointing first defeat of 2025 last weekend against Hibs, hoping they can kick on from it to achieve success in the next month.
She continued: “I will be honest it was a down couple of days, the first couple of days which I would expect.
“I think they really felt the loss which is not a bad thing from a perspective, but we really managed to dig into it and pick the bones of it.
“We have spent quite a while looking at the game and looking at certain aspects of the game and what we didn't do so well and tried to put it right this week.
“Made a very clear point that there is a cut-off point and there is no sulking and feeling sorry for ourselves because we have got another big game to look ahead to for the weekend and they have been great ever since that first day back in.
“We have changed mindsets; we have looked at it positively and they have been really good in training.
“It is down to us to make sure that is really hitting home and we have got to make sure that we are really pushing to try and stay on the same page with each other and stick to the plan going forward.”
Following the conclusion of this Sunday’s semi-final, the Gers will quickly turn their attention back to league action as they will get the opportunity to play at Ibrox once again against Glasgow City, with the head coach praising the club for giving her team the chance to play on the pitch on what will be four occasions come the end of the campaign.
She added: “It is great that the club have got our best interests at heart.
“Patrick [Stewart] has been a real forefront of that.
“He was the one who offered us the game at Ibrox coming up and I am always going to snap his hand off for that opportunity.
“It shows you know the guys have got an Old Firm on the weekend and that is not really affecting our opportunity to play there midweek.
“I think it really sends a strong message of how important they feel that we are to this club and our successes going forward.
“I think it allows us to play these bigger games on bigger stadiums and on decent pitches.
“The point is we want to showcase our best football and when you are playing on a beautiful pitch like Ibrox that really helps and we feel like we are a team that want to play football and try get the ball down and move it as much as possible.
“Whenever we get a chance to play at Ibrox we jump at it.”
