Ross’ competitive debut for Portsmouth ended in disappointment, as he was shown a red card in their 1-0 defeat at Shrewsbury on the opening weekend of the League One season. Ryan Giles goal had Shrews ahead on 68 minutes before Ross, who started the game and had been booked earlier, was shown a second yellow on 81 minutes.

Jordan played 90 minutes as Fleetwood opened their League One season with an excellent 3-1 win away to Peterborough United. Harry Souttar opened the scoring for Town early on before Josh Morris doubled their lead soon after. Peterborough pulled one back in the second half but Danny Andrew sealed the points with nine minutes left.

Jak also made his Blackpool debut on Saturday, keeping a clean sheet as they beat Bristol Rovers 2-0. Goals either side of half time from Jay Spearing and Armand Gnanduillet secured victory for the Seasiders.
