Lovelace Delighted With Dumbarton Win

ZAK LOVELACE expressed his delight to progress to the next round of the SPFL Trust Trophy after the Rangers B Team secured a well-deserved 7-0 victory against Dumbarton.

The 16-year-old was named in David McCallum’s starting eleven to face the League Two side tonight, and he was once again on the scoresheet in the young Gers’ positive 7-0 victory.

Speaking exclusively to RangersTV after the match, the youngster reflected on their dominant win, he said: “I’m very happy with the result, it’s a 7-0 win and it’s always good to get that many goals.

“As we went into the second half, we came out quite fast, everyone was making runs and doing their jobs – it was about carrying on what we were doing in the first half.

“With the early goals, it just carried the momentum for us.”

The youngster looked ahead as the squad progressed to the next round of the competition and outlined the benefit to play against different teams across the tournament.

Lovelace added: “Tournament football is always good to play any level of opposition, however as the rounds get harder it’s always good to get another level of opposition. I’m enjoying it and learning from it as well.”
