The young Ger reflected on tonight’s league match as the Galashiels side looked eager to fight back in the second half of the fixture.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV after their win, he said: “I thought first half we were brilliant, we scored some really nice goals, played really well and our quality was really high. In the second half, we let it slip early but, again, I thought we still showed quality throughout there to go and get the fourth and fifth to see the game out.
“It’s always good to get a goal quite early on, I think that settles the nerves a wee bit for the boys. After that, we started to get into the game more and more and played the way that we play to go and get the second and third. Again, a really good first half, but the second half could’ve been a bit better.
“We kind of knew that they would come out after half time to give us a jag, I think it just caught us by surprise that they got the goal so early on. We just had to keep level headed in the game which we did to get the fourth and fifth after their second.”
Lyall looked ahead to Tuesday afternoon’s Old Firm Glasgow Cup semi-final and outlined the squad’s preparations ahead of the match after a compact week of games.
He added: “Two games in four days is tough for the boys, but we’ve been recovering well and looking after ourselves. It’s just getting ready for that big game, but all the boys will be prepared well to go again.
