The young Gers face Celtic B in Govan as they look to retain the trophy following last year’s victory over Queen’s Park in the final.
Speaking to RangersTV ahead of the fixture, Lyall commented: “It’s very exciting given it’s a cup final. At this club you need to get to finals and you need to win.
“We’ve had a good season overall. Apart from a few a slip-ups in the league, we perhaps could have challenged for first place. It’s important to get silverware at the end of the season and this is the last chance that we’ve got. We have to take that chance.”
Lyall was a second half substitute in last year’s final at Broadwood Stadium, and the midfielder hopes that the team can repeat the feat in their final competitive domestic fixture of the campaign.
He continued: “I remember that Cole McKinnon scored an absolutely worldie [in that match]. It was a great feeling winning the Glasgow Cup last year. At a club like this you need to win trophies, and hopefully we can do that again.
“There are so many players who have come through before me that have won trophies. There is such a rich history at the club, and you want to leave your mark. Hopefully we can be part of a team which wins a trophy.”
Kick-off at Ibrox is 7pm and you can enjoy the match live on the official Rangers YouTube channel.
