The FA Women’s Super League Champions ran out 4-1 winners at Rangers Training Centre this evening in a fantastic test for Gers.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, Thomson said: “It was a fantastic event for a team like Chelsea to come here when only three months ago they were in the Champions League Final. It was great.
“For our players to be tested and subjected to that level of play is fantastic. I have got to thank Chelsea for coming up and putting on a display and it was really good for the women's game.
“We had to be disciplined and any slight mistake could've been a goal, I think we only had 21 per cent possession.
“We lost some goals and some of the girls were a bit disappointed in some of the goals we lost. We could have maybe done a bit better in terms of our shape but the strength and the power and physicality of Chelsea that is where we want to try and get to.”
Thomson said the squad can learn from the match as a group and as individuals.
He continued: “I think not just collectively as a group but individually each player and even the younger ones can learn.
“We managed to put every young player on that park to experience it and be there.
“It is an absolute learning curve for us individually and collectively so it will be great going into our next set of games and into training there's lots of things we can really hone our skills on.”
