MALKY THOMSON was delighted with the performance from his Rangers side as they beat Glasgow City 5-0 at Broadwood this afternoon.
Goals from Megan Bell, Kirsty Howat, Zoe Ness, Lizzie Arnot and Carly Girasoli sealed the three points for the Light Blues.
Speaking to RangersTV after the game, Thomson said: "It is very satisfying not just for the result today but the way they have worked hard since the start of the season. No game is won without the preparation or the planning that went in beforehand.
"We started the game really nervously and you have got to understand we have gone full time and there is pressure that everyone must be feeling in there and they are representing Rangers.
"It took a wee while to settle down, but certainly Megan getting the goal put a wee bit of calmness into their play.
"I think it is important that you are not just relying on one person to put the ball in the net getting the five different goalscorers is definitely encouraging that we know we are a force in different areas of the pitch."
Thomson praised 18-year-old defender Carly Girlasoli for a strong defensive performance in her second game this season.
He continued: "Carly has a great attitude, she is a young girl and she knows it is going to be difficult competing to get into the starting line-up every week as the rest of the girls know as well.
"I'm really pleased for her, her performance was excellent, defensively she was solid and her use of the ball was good.
"It is really important for our style of play that every one of the back four can handle the ball to then build and construct attacks."
