The Gers boss was delighted to see Lisa Martinez play an hour on her return from injury, while youngsters Georgia Gray and Eilidh Austin were handed their league debuts in the second-half.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: “I thought it was great in a lot of aspects.
“We got some valuable minutes into some legs, I am really pleased that Lisa has made her debut after 11 months out of the game.
“The medical department at Rangers have been instrumental in getting her to that level of fitness where she has played 60 minutes.
“Then the debuts for the two younger girls so it is really important for their development not only that we are competing in a top league here but we are actually allowing the youth players to develop and come into the fold and hopefully that will bode well in the future for Rangers.
“Our core group really set the tone and they drive the standards and keep the standards going upwards. I am really pleased with their commitment, their attitude and the way they played today.”
With some fantastic goals this afternoon, and another clean sheet, Thomson said it is important the squad try to keep momentum going.
He added: “I think Rachel’s goal is probably going to be up there for goal of the season, Jenny's was superb as well it was a great strike.
“They have got a lot of attributes in their game and it is one of the things we profile at Rangers that our full-backs get into goal scoring opportunities and Rachel did she struck the ball really well.
“We are big on keeping the momentum going and it is sometimes difficult but we try to find wee areas in terms of our preparation and the standards we have to attain to keep that clean sheet, score goals and get three points.
Heading into an international break next week, Thomson is pleased to see so many players heading away with their country. He continued: “It’s really good and fantastic that the girls will go and get that international experience again.
“We have had a conversation with Pedro [Martinez Losa] there, it is good that we are having those conversations to make sure the players are ready for not just Scotland but Rangers as well.”
