The young Gers made it four wins on the spin with a positive showing at the Rangers Training Centre, which tees the side up nicely for their SPFL Trust Trophy second round clash away to Clyde in midweek.
Speaking to RangersTV, the Gers B head coach commented: "The boys enjoy exciting us, don't they?
"It was a really strong performance in the first half in terms of having the ball and how we retained possession.
"We spoke before the game about creating habits and making sure that your habits are a part of your daily actions.
"And I think you could see from the way that the players approached the game, their warm-up, and all the small details, that it does culminate in a great performance and scoring goals.
"There's only one way that you'll be a true professional football player: if you have the good habits and how you approach the game.
"If you want to play for Glasgow Rangers then you need to be a winner."
There was a real mix of youth and relative experience in the Gers side this afternoon, with Ianis Hagi boosting the side's performance with a hat-trick of his own.
Although the Gers hit their opponents to the tune of five goals, Thomson believes there are still areas for his side to address in the analysis room.
He added: "The intensity is there. We train in the same fashion that we do when we play.
"I think there's competition in the group too. We're talking about good habits, and there is disappointment when myself and David [McCallum] pick the team.
"But it then inspires other players who are only going to get a certain amount of minutes in the game because they know they need to make an impact. It's healthy all round.
"One of things that myself and David spoke about at the end of the game was about how we conceded three goals, especially when we played in the style that we did.
"It does take the gloss off the result in some ways, but there are points in the game that we will look at.
"Why did we concede certain goals and is there anything that we can do to teach the players if it isn't something structurally?"
