Malky Thomson: Lost For Words At Title Win

MALKY THOMSON was lost for words as his side lifted an historic first Park’s Motor Group SWPL title this afternoon.

The Gers boss shared his pride at full-time as his squad drew 0-0 with reigning champions Glasgow City to get their hands on the league title for the first time.

He said: “It is fantastic, it is a great feeling for every member of staff involved. It has been a tough tough season, very difficult and we have stayed resilient and we have stayed strong.

“I am over the moon for the girls. The effort they have put in not just today but in previous weeks has been nothing short of fantastic.

“It is something when we set out at the start of the journey it was very much about learning from last year coming into this year building a squad again and being strong and confident about each other. I am lost for words because I am really proud of this group.”

With just one game remaining of the league season, Rangers remain unbeaten this season and Thomson praised the way his side dealt with the challenges.

He continued: “Every game we have faced different problems and the big thing today was the occasion. Now they have experienced winning I am hoping they get a taste for it and they crave it and want to keep doing it because that's what this football club is about.

It was great, I think only the group itself will understand how hard it has been from the first game through to this we have had fantastic backing from the club and it has really helped us.”
