Malky Thomson Praises Gers Performance

MALKY THOMSON praised his side for their performance from start to finish as they beat Hibs 1-0 in Edinburgh this evening.

The Gers remain unbeaten in the SWPL, with another important three points on the road.

The Light Blues had to remain patient at times, but Thomson was impressed with how they approached the game.

Speaking to RangersTV after the match, he said: “We are delighted to get the three points that is ultimately what it is about at the end of the day so it is irrelevant as to how we get it but I thought the girls played really well from start to finish.

“They had a real good shape, and only probably if I'm going to be hyper-critical of them would be the last five minutes when Hibs were obviously going to bang the ball forward and put us under pressure.

“I thought we maybe could've had a bit more composure and better shape because they had the chance at the end.”

Brogan Hay came off the bench to be involved in the build-up for the goal, and Thomson insists this season will be a whole squad effort.

He continued: “Brogan has a great attitude, she has got great pace and she gets herself into areas where we can get the ball to her to utilise that pace.

“Some of the girls have sat on the bench and haven't been used but there will be opportunities.

“As much as the girls that are playing, the girls that are sitting on the bench are learning and experiencing it and they have got to be ready to step in.”
