A first-half header from Lizzie Arnot was followed-up by a second-half Kirsty Howat strike and a Tessel Middag penalty as Rangers secured another vital three points in the league campaign.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, Thomson said: “I am delighted to get the three points. It is vitally important we take care of each individual game and I think between the first-half and second-half there was a difference - in the second-half we had more intent about ourselves.
“We dominated the full game, but I think in the second-half the ball was rolling a bit quicker and we were definitely more like what I'd expected in the first-half.
“If we look at the start of the game, we put a high demand on each other, and I think we should've really gone in probably 3-0 up at half-time but that is the way it unfolded. In the second-half we came into our own and I think the goal settled us down and the second goal allowed us then to go and play.
“We spoke at half-time about having more intent and moving the ball a bit quicker, getting bodies in the box and having better deliveries into the box and we certainly did that in the second-half.”
Thomson insists the squad are focused on the task at hand ahead of an important few weeks for the Light Blues. Tonight’s victory moves Rangers into second-place in the league, three points ahead of Celtic and two points behind Glasgow City, with those sides facing each other tomorrow evening.
The Gers boss continued: “It is difficult, we have got such a strong and talented squad and it is difficult to keep everyone playing and everyone happy but that is the nature of league football at Rangers.
“There's massive competition for places and each game can dictate who you are going to play so credit to the girls they are focused, they have all bought in and they know what the job is about.
“We can only control what we do in the 90 minutes, we'll see what the outcome is of the game tomorrow, and we'll see where we lie and we'll be ready for Sunday against Hearts.”
