The Light Blues continued the momentum they had built up from crucial league victories over Celtic and Hibs in their last two outings with another win in Cumbernauld as they kept pace at the top of the table.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory the midfielder was happy the side were able to run out winners on the night as they closed the gap at the top before the other teams face off tomorrow evening.
She said: “It was good that we got the win, we need to keep the pressure on Celtic and Glasgow City as much as possible. I think ideally we would have liked to have scored more goals known that we would like more when it comes to the goal difference between us and Celtic.
“That is a bit disappointing but we are obviously happy with the win, I thought the crowd were brilliant as well, they were really loud, it was a good atmosphere, good weather, so there are lots of positives.”
Middag felt the breakthrough was going to eventually come on the night as the Gers had to wait to break the deadlock before Lizzie Arnot headed home the opener just before the interval.
She continued: “We were confident, Nic [Docherty] said a couple of times during the game to not get frustrated, because it obviously took a little while before we got that first goal.
“We knew that the chances and the goals would come, at least the first one would and we could build on from there. It was all about not losing our patience and just trying to keep creating those chances, sometimes you just need the one goal to go in and the rest will follow.”
The 30-year-old was on hand to add the third goal of the evening from the penalty spot and said the side were out to score as many as possible on the night.
She added: “It is always nice to score, it has been a little while since I scored last so it was about time, I have had some chances in the last few weeks but I didn’t manage to put them away. Luckily I could score to make it 3-0 and we added three goals to our goal difference today.
“Going into the game I think we had a six goal deficit to Celtic, ideally we wanted to close that gap as much as possible. We have two games left of the season, Sunday we play Hearts away and the last game of the season against Glasgow City.
“We are going to try everything we can to win those two games, score a couple of goals if possible and we will see on May 21 where we will finish.”
