The head coach was delighted with the contribution from the whole squad as the Light Blues picked up another three points in the Park’s Motor Group SWPL.
Speaking at full-time, he said: “We started the game in a real positive vein, we played really well in getting the lead and then we decided we would make some changes and it was great to get the two Academy girls on.
“I think the two goals that we lost probably spoiled the performance to be honest, we don't want to lose goals, but it is another three points on the road.”
Lizzie Arnot and Sam Kerr both netted twice, with Brogan Hay also on the scoresheet for Rangers. Kerr was back on the pitch for the first time since September and Thomson was delighted with her contribution.
He continued: “There were some great goals, Sam has worked hard to get back and she is now fully fit as you can see. Her contribution was excellent, not just in terms of the goals but in general play.
“They are all starting to understand what their contribution is to the team and it that is when we put a certain person on for a certain tactic. Brogan is quick and I am really pleased for her getting her goal as well.
Heading into the winter break, Thomson feels it will be an important time both mentally and physically for the players.
He explained: “We will still be training, we will train right up until the end of next week. The players will be able to have their family time as well which is needed so it will be important mentally too, not just physically.”
