Goals from Brianna Westrup and Tessel Middag helped Rangers to a 2-1 victory against Spartans at Auchenhowie and Thomson was delighted with the attitude of the squad.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: “Up until we lost the goal we were creating a lot of chances and we hit the bar twice but we showed great resilience and belief.
“We know that and we can trust each other and we knew that over the course of the game we would create enough chances and we would eventually get the win.
“At half-time we spoke a bit about the quality, I think we were still a wee bit slack in terms of our in possession stuff but it was about sticking to the way we have been playing over the course of the other games and we knew that we would create enough chances."
Thomson hopes his side can continue to dominate games as they head into a busy week starting with Aberdeen away on Wednesday evening.
He continued: “There's a spirit among the group and throughout the course of this season we have had games where we have won quite easily and we have had games where we have had to come back from a goal down.
“We have won narrowly in terms of the scoreline but the one thing that has always come through is we have had a dominance in the games which we must continue to keep that up.
“We will recover and get our heads round about how Aberdeen are likely to play against us but we are looking forward to going up there.”
