MANAGER Philippe Clement praised the team performance as an impressive display saw his side to a 5-0 victory away to Dundee in the Scottish Premiership.
for the new boss and he was delighted to see what they had been working on on the training pitch executed a Dens Park.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, Clement said: “I am really happy this evening because scoring five goals is not easy, and we had enough other chances also. It was because of good football, creating chances, moving together and what we were working on really hard with the team in training.
“We have been using videos to explain to them how we can create spaces, so you see the team is really stepping into that story and everyone is working hard to do the right things together.
“They played good football but then on the other side also keeping a clean sheet is a crucial one for me so keeping our structure, not giving away chances and if we give away chances then we also have a really good goalkeeper.”
The manager insists the most important thing was winning this evening as he challenged the squad to maintain the strong focus they have been showing at the moment.
He said: “I don't care who is scoring it is about the team and it is about the team performance and in some games a striker gets a lot of chances and in another game a midfielder, a winger or a full-back. It depends where we can find spaces in the moments.
“For me the most important thing is winning these three points and feeling this good dynamic within the team where everybody wants to work hard, do the job without the ball and like this we are going to win a lot of games if everybody keeps the same focus as what they are doing now.”
Reflecting on his first couple of weeks as Rangers boss, Clement added: “It has been busy, very busy, with a lot of games of course. I am starting to get to know the players better and better.
“Of course, I am happy that we can get wins but there are still a lot of things to do with the group to make things better all together, but I am really happy in the club. I feel a lot of passionate people, a lot of people who want the best for the club and want to work hard and that is the environment I want to have.”
