A double from Robbie Ure and goals from Charlie Lindsay and James Graham saw the youngsters come back from behind and showcased a positive performance as they now head to Hampden for the cup final.
Jack McConnell started in goals with a backline of Jack Harkness, Greig Allen, Connor Allan and Kelsey Ewen in front of him.
Charlie Lindsay, Leyton Dunlop and Darren McInally were in the midfield with Robbie Ure, Tyler Pasnik and Rory Wilson up front for the Light Blues.
The young Gers started with the intent to dominate the play in this important semi-final tie. However, with less than a minute gone, Hibs had the first opportunity to open the scoring when Connor Malley fired a powerful low shot towards the goal, but Jack McConnell pulled off a superb save.
A minute later, Hibs were awarded a penalty after a handball in the Gers box. Josh O’Conner stood up to take the shot before firing past the keeper.
The Light Blues aimed to fight back quickly and were awarded a free-kick just outside the Hibs box on seven minutes after a foul on a Darren McInally. Charlie Lindsay delivered a high ball towards the back post to link up with Tyler Pasniik, but Murray Johnson pulled off an excellent save to deny Rangers the equaliser.
Rangers were hungry to close the deficit, and it was Pasnik who threaded a superb ball to an on running Jack Harkness down the right side. The youngster passed to Robbie Ure inside the visitors’ penalty box, but he couldn’t properly connect with his effort.
The Gers continued to push their way into Hibs’ box, with Pasnik and Rory Wilson linking up well to threaten the backline, but it was Lindsay who found the equaliser for the team in the 20th minute. The youngster collected the ball on the edge of the box before executing a low powerful shot past Johnson.
This seemed to jar the home side as they started to pressure the Rangers backline. Jacob Blaney found the ball in the congested Gers box, but Ure made a critical interception to deflect his strike.
10 minutes before the end of the first half, O’Connor doubled the lead for the home side after intercepting a pass from Pasnik about 30 yards from the Rangers goal. The youngster advanced forward, taking a shot from outside the box where it rattled off the post before rolling over the line.
As Rangers started the second half, they looked to pressurise the Hibs final third to find the equaliser.
Ure and Wilson linked up well in the Hibs box. Ure flicked the ball over the heads of the backline to find Wilson, but a green shirt made a good interception before he could get his shot away.
Sub James Graham found himself in a threatening position to close the gap. He managed to get a header towards goal, but a defender also cleared the danger with a header.
The youngster didn’t have to wait long for another chance and in the 75th minute, he found the equalising goal for the Gers. The ball was delivered towards the back post where Graham got a superb header to put it past Johnson.
The Gers were on the front foot now and pressurising the home side looking to take the lead and put the game to bed and it was Ure who was the one to do so. The youngster netted a double only a couple of minutes apart, the first came from a threatening delivery where he managed to get a header on the end of the cross to see the back of the net.
His second came in a similar nature within a congested Hibs box, the youngster managed to get on the end of another crossed effort to put the final goal past the home side and secure their place in the Cup final at Hampden.
