McCallum spoke exclusively with RangersTV ahead of Saturday’s away fixture against East Stirlingshire in Falkirk, and said “East Stirlingshire have won two games as well so they will be sitting in a position they will be confident in. What we don't know though is how they will approach the game, we can only focus on ourselves.”
McCallum praised his team’s performance on Tuesday against Spartans as they collected another three points and clean sheet and is confident that the young Gers can compete against the physicality of the first team environment. He added “We’ve got to make sure that players are physically prepared for these games.
“One area that is good is our endurance levels and our ability to last the game longer. Our fitness levels are comfortable and beyond that of the opposite team, but we recognise that they are part-time and we have to take advantage of that.”
The B Team coach highlighted the significance of the development the team are having playing against more experienced players. He said “These are the key learning moments. We’ve got to take this opportunity to ensure that they are learning about their own game.
“We can’t solely focus on the 90 minutes, there’s a lot of work to be done behind the scenes to ensure that the players remember that they are developing and that they're not yet in that first team environment on a permanent nature.
“When the game against East Stirlingshire comes along on Saturday the players can hopefully reflect and refer on the last two games and work out on what’s happening make the best decisions at the right time.”

Premier League side Brighton are the visitors to Ibrox on Saturday (kick-off 5.30pm) as Steven Gerrard’s men ramp up pre-season preparations ahead of the Scottish Premiership opener against Livingston next weekend.
Emma Dodds will be joined in the studio by Neil McCann and Alex Rae, with Clive Tyldesley and ex-Brighton and Rangers player Gordon Smith.
