The B team boss believes his squad handled today’s challenges very well to gain three points and a clean sheet in their last game of the year.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV following their last game of 2021, McCallum reflected on his team’s winning performance with the tough pitch conditions.
He said: “It’s very pleasing, we wanted to make sure that we came today with a focus to put on a good performance in what was a very difficult pitch to play on, the lads handled that very well.
"There was a decent crowd that turned up today, so it was important that we put on a bit of a show and entertained them.
“This was a good opportunity to get some of the younger boys playing this afternoon, any opportunity that they get it is important that they take them.”
McCallum looked ahead to the games in 2022 and the opportunities that the squad will have with the list of fixtures coming up.
He added: “We were looking at the fixture list yesterday, we’ve still got games to pencil in, we have the UEFA Youth League, the Glasgow Cup all to look forward to.
"There are a lot of exciting and challenging fixtures that we’ve still got to play, we’re still pushing in the Lowland League to make sure that we are competitive at the end of the season."
