The B Team boss expressed his delight to collect three points away from home in the league campaign after a positive performance throughout the team.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV after their win, he said: “I thought that it was a really mature performance, the first half our plan was going quite well, and we created a lot of good opportunities. We probably missed a few opportunities that we should’ve done a bit better in, that was the only disappointment at half time.
"The second half was a bit different, we had to defend a bit deeper at times, but we did that well. It was really pleasing to get a goal, a great delivery from Charlie McCann and with Cole McKinnon to hit the back of the net was just fantastic. Overall, a really mature performance and we’re delighted with how the result ended.”
McCallum reflected on the squad’s recent fixtures in the league campaign and outlined how the team bounced back this evening in a challenging away environment.
He added: “It has been a couple of difficult results and that’s something that we need to work hard to address because we should be doing better in some of those games, we’ll look at that and keep trying to improve as we go on.
“Today was different for the lads as they’ve not got those fans coming behind us, that in itself is a different challenge because you’ve to manage the emotions of the stands, that’s an emotional rollercoaster for the lads, but I thought that they dealt with that brilliantly - a lot of things came together tonight.”
