The forward was on the scoresheet as the Gers returned to winning ways, scoring five times in the second half to take the game away from the Lanarkshire side and underline the away side’s authority.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory, McCoy says the standard of training in the lead up to the fixture was key to the team’s performance levels: “This week of training has been really high level and one of the best weeks of training that we’ve had all season.
"It really set us to perform well here because we’ve been scoring goals like those all week in training so when we come into the game it makes it a lot easier.
“Obviously coming off the game last week, we had a point to prove. We had a bit of a chip on our shoulder and we went out today and did what we needed to do to get the result.
"It’s good to get myself going in 2023 and get back into scoring form. It was good from us and a good team game all round.”
The Light Blues struck early through a terrific strike from Tessel Middag – who netted twice on the afternoon – and McCoy admits that the fast start from Rangers set the tone as she looked ahead to next weekend’s top-of-the-table clash with Glasgow City at Broadwood Stadium.
She continued: “It makes the game a bit easier when we can get an early goal. We were able to do that today, we were sharp from the start.
"We were intent on getting an early goal and we were able to do that. It doesn’t always happen that way but we were fortunate enough to get one today with Tess’ goal.
“It boosts the confidence and the mood of the group. We’ll get another week of training like we did last week and move onto the game next weekend.”
