Predominantly a winger, this campaign has saw the youngster fill in at right-back on occasion and today line up in a centre midfield role today alongside Tessel Middag.
Speaking to RangersTV after the game to reflect on the Gers booking their place in the next round with a 7-0 win, she said: “Centre-mid? I enjoy it, anytime I am on the park I enjoy it.
“I am young I just want to be playing football and learn as much as I can with the girls around me, Jo, Hagi and the staff.
“Just trying to do extra and I know that I can do a job anywhere for the team and I am just happy to be contributing in any way I can.
“Players like Cornet helping me? Yes and even Tessel at the start of the game as well, she talked me through the game because obviously I don't play in there much.
“Having the experience alongside me helps massively, just the communication and encouragement.
“It makes you want to do well for your team so I love playing alongside all the girls.
“They help massively especially in training as well, just picking up little hints and tips from them and trying to put them into my game as well.”
The 19-year-old has looked back at the 90 minutes as a whole and says the side raised their levels once they found the opener to break Montrose’s defensive unit.
She continued: “I think we had a slow start, we spoke about that at half time, towards the end of the first half we started to get back into our groove and do what we having been working on in during the week.
“Hammering home just getting minutes and combinations round the box and getting shots away.
“Obviously we went in 3-0 at half time so we were pleased with that and come out in the second half and were much better and on the front foot.
“As soon as you get one goal the goals just come.
“I think it is just having that from the start is something that we need to get better at is starting quicker in games.
“We will review the game and look at it and go again next week.
“The team that we are we come up against that near enough every week.
“Teams are going to sit in and try defend for their lives like you saw, it was the same last week as well but we just need to bring our quality on the day.
“Each and every person in the team has got quality so it doesn't matter who starts and who comes on we all know our role in the team, so today was good.
Having booked their place in the next round the Light Blues now turn their attention back to league action next weekend and McLeary says they are prepared to go again with two vital games to come before the first international break of the year.
She added: “The beauty of the cup games is results matter.
“We need to be in the next round, it is our cup that we want to retain.
“Job done and obviously onto Aberdeen next week which will be another tough game but one we are ready for.”
