Rangers were held to a 0-0 draw at Broadwood and despite disappointment at not being able to find the breakthrough, Middag was pleased with the intensity shown in the match.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, she said: “Normally goalless draws are quite boring but I think this game was quite exciting for the neutral watcher.
“We are obviously disappointed not to come away with the three points, we wanted to give a good account of ourselves and give the fans something to celebrate but it was a good game and there was good intensity from both teams.
“It was a bit of a similar story to our game against Glasgow City last week, towards the end we had some great chances to score but we still had to be aware of Celtic's counter-attacks.
“They had a good chance right towards the end too so it was up and down but in the end we had most possession of the ball and dominated. We expected them to be pressing us a bit higher but they sat quite deep so it was difficult to break through and we are just disappointed we couldn't score a goal today.”
Next up in the league for Gers is Glasgow Women next Sunday and Middag hopes Rangers can get back to winning ways.
She continued: “We are looking forward to the game, especially in the lead up to the cup final in the week after but it’s Glasgow Women first and we are looking forward to hopefully getting back to winning ways.
“At Rangers that is what we are about, we try to be a winning team, we drew our last two games against our biggest opponents for the title so now it is about trying to get the three points again.”
