The Light Blues head into Thursday’s clash at Ibrox looking for their first points in the league phase, as they look to replicate another famous night under the lights in the iconic stadium.
Speaking to the media in this afternoon’s press conference ahead of the visit of AS Roma, he commented: “We want to win every game and as many as we can.
“We haven't won any yet, so obviously it is going to be an important one for us because there are not a lot of games left and Roma are a good opponent. It is going to be difficult, but we really want to start well and start well at the beginning.
“If this is a chance for us to do it, then this is an important game for us to start quickly.
The midfielder has spoken on the change of mood in the camp since the appointment of head coach Danny Röhl recently, talking on the style of play and continued attacking approach throughout in matches, including in their weekend outing, having had to play a large chunk of the match with 10 men.
He continued: “We have a new manager and he wants to play attacking football.
“He wants us to be compact, and I think it is mostly what has changed. I know we were 2-1 at the weekend, so we just tried to push and give everything.
“We were 1-0 down, so everybody knew that we had to push 110 per cent to get something because we were already down. We felt like we had nothing to lose, we were just going on, and we had our chances, and it was just unfortunate that it didn't happen. I felt like we gave everything for that game.”
Diomande insists the new boss has installed belief in the side since his arrival, as they look to start climbing up the league phase table.
He added: “Belief from the last few weeks? Yes, we have not had a good start in the European campaign like we did last season.
“We are all looking forward to playing good in Europe and give our fans the belief that we can get far like we did last season.
“We have two managers already, and we've had three games in Europe that have not been good, but with this manager, we are trying to be as compact as we can to try and get our first win in Europe.
“I hope it is going to be the first one in a good run because we have five more games and we want to try and put ourselves in a good position to qualify.”
