The 19 year-old Academy graduate was excellent when he replaced James Tavernier, linking up well with his teammates and being a real threat down the right hand side.
He spoke to RangersTV afterwards and said: “Any opportunity I get to come in, especially at Ibrox, I want to go and grab it. I really enjoyed it and it was a great win from the boys.
“Today, we were right on it, right from the very start and it showed in the scoreline. Sometimes when the subs come onto the pitch, the game can drop but I thought we just kept the intensity going and that’s how we got the big win.
“Training every day with the boys and working with the coaching staff, you know what is expected of you.
“It is great to play alongside some top players and they are obviously going to help you in your development.
“I just enjoy playing with good players and that is great for me.”
Going the other way, Patterson contributed to another clean sheet for the Light Blues – their 19th in the league so far this season.
It also means Rangers still have the best defensive record of any team in any of the top 30 leagues in Europe, and Patterson was delighted to be a part of that this afternoon.
He added: “That [the clean sheet] was something I was told when I was coming on to make sure we got, and I am really buzzing with that.
“Our back four has a lot of experience. Connor and Fil speak to you through the game and you take anything they say positively and go on and try to help the team.”
