The 18 year-old Academy product had a fine 50 minutes at right-back for Gers, coming on as a sub for Kemar Roofe.
Speaking to RangersTV afterwards, he said: "It was great. Any time you play with the first team, you need to enjoy it and embrace the opportunity, and I thought I did that.
"I always try to do well and come on and make an impact."
Patterson was afforded the rare opportunity to play alongside James Tavernier for the latter part of the first half when he replaced Roofe and Tavernier moved forward into midfield.
He is learning so much from the skipper, and he continued: "He is doing really well at the moment. He has kicked on, playing well and is scoring goals and providing a lot for the team."
Patterson is now onto three appearances for the season, and he praised his teammates for the way in which they have fully integrated him into the first-team squad.
He added: "Being around them every day, you get used to them and get more comfortable with them. It just helps when you go on the pitch as it makes you more likely to do well."
