New Rangers Loan Review 23/11

RANGERS have a number of players currently out on-loan from both the first-team and Academy.

Despite the international break, some were involved in Betfred Cup action at the weekend.

Here’s our review of how those who featured performed…

Jamie Murphy

Jamie scored his first goal for Hibernian at the weekend as they drew 2-2 with Celtic at Easter Road.

Kevin Nisbet’s penalty was saved, but Murphy was quickest to react to fire home the rebound.

Hibs host St Johnstone tomorrow evening, before a trip to Dundee in the Betfred Cup on Saturday.

Stephen Kelly

Stephen got another 90 minutes under his belt in what was a tough afternoon for Ross County as they lost 3-1 to Kilmarnock.

The 20-year-old set up County’s only goal of the match as Tom Grivotsi headed home from a quick-corner.

The Highland side travel to Parkhead this weekend in the Betfred Cup.

Kai Kennedy

Kai was praised by ICT manager John Robertson for a “sensational” second-half performance in their 2-0 victory over Raith Rovers.

The winger played 88 minutes for Inverness, as they moved within a point of the Championship play-off spots.

Inverness are in action on Friday evening as they travel to Dumfries to face Queen of the South.

James Maxwell

James and Queen of the South made it two wins out of two as they beat Alloa Athletic 2-0 on Saturday.

Despite receiving treatment for an early head knock in the game, the left-back was able to continue to play another 90 minutes in the Championship.

He is set to come up against Academy teammate Kai Kennedy on Friday as Inverness Caledonian Thistle make the trip to Dumfries.

Kieran Wright

It was the second consecutive clean sheet for Kieran as Partick Thistle beat East Fife 2-0 at Firhill.

The win continued the Jags unbeaten record at home this season as they moved into fourth in League One.

They travel to take on Montrose in the league this weekend.

Matthew Shiels

Matthew played 81 minutes as Clyde beat Montrose 3-2 at the weekend to pick up their first win in five matches.

They will be looking to build on that result this weekend against East Fife.

It was a difficult afternoon for Civil Service Strollers as they lost 4-1 away to Hurlford.

They will be looking to bounce back tomorrow evening as they host Berwick Rangers, before travelling to Vale of Leithen on Saturday.
