Malky Thomson Praises The Attitude Of His Players

MALKY THOMSON praised the attitude of his squad as they picked up three points in Forfar this afternoon.

The Gers boss admitted it wasn’t the best performance but was happy to head back to Glasgow with the points.

Speaking to RangersTV after the game, he said: “It was a tough game on a cold day. The journey up and the preparations were great but I don’t think we played particularly well, however we got the points.

“They were a tough physical side but we are going to have to face different challenges every week.”

An own goal and a Lizzie Arnot strike had Rangers 2-0 up, but Forfar got back in the game just a minute later.

Captain Clare Gemmell sealed the win with her injury time strike.

Thomson continued: “The physicality was a problem and the pace Forfar had upfront so they were always going to be a threat.

“We showed a great attitude. We were relentless in our approach, maybe technically we weren’t great and tactically we could’ve helped each other out to have a better shape but we have come through the other side and we have scored late on.

“We got the second goal then immediately conceded and it gave Forfar something to hang on to but credit to them they are a physical side.

“Clare gets the goal late on, she has great passion and great desire to win games but it is a great learning curve for us and we are facing different challenges every week.”
