MIDFIELDER Nico Raskin has hailed the Ibrox atmosphere after Rangers’ positive display in the Europa League this evening.
The Gers claimed a well-deserved point against Tottenham Hotspur as they more than matched the English side in an entertaining 1-1 draw in matchday six of the competition.
Speaking to RangersTV after the game to reflect on the evening, he said: “It was good, it was a very exciting game, I think as a team we created a really good performance.
“The fans were behind us and it was an amazing night.
“We heard some of their players telling us that they were not ready for the atmosphere so it was just an amazing night.
“Ok we wish we could win but taking one point against one of the top teams in England is always a good point so let's just focus on Sunday and go for the win.
“It was a tough game; we knew that they would be very good.
“It is a top team in England but we knew that we must be ready for the game but we competed well so we are happy with that.”
“The atmosphere? It is amazing when you play a good pass forward or you recover the ball to you have this boost of energy behind you.
“We are lucky to have the best fans so we can only enjoy playing like that.”
The Belgian was full of praise for striker Hamza Igamane on the night as his second half strike put the Light Blues ahead before they were pegged back by Dejan Kulusevski’s goal, as the Gers now quickly turn their attention to Sunday’s Premier Sports Cup Old Firm final.
He added: “He is flying, but it is not only about the way he scores goals it is about the work he is doing without the ball.
“It is about holding the ball for us; he is doing a great job so we can only be pleased with him.
“It is a pity that the goal of Cyriel was disallowed because it would have been amazing to have those two scoring but now it is about repeating it on Sunday and going for the win.
“It is so important, for us Sunday is all about winning, we just think about recovering and go for the win.”
