The Gers square off against their Old Firm rivals at the national stadium in the Scottish Cup final, having lifted this competition on the last two occasions.
They also boast a 100% record against Celtic in their encounters this campaign, but the captain admits the squad are motivated to right the wrongs of last weekend’s disappointment at losing out on the league title.
Speaking to RangersTV to preview Sunday’s showdown, Docherty said: “It would be huge. We’ve not won a trophy this year yet, so it’s one we really want to get our hands on.
“We want to make this one right based on the disappointment from the previous cup final.
“We feel that over the course of the season, we have faced adversity a lot, and the girls have really bounced back each time we’ve faced it.
“It has been a fixture that has been kind to us for a while, but we know these things can come to an end eventually. But we’ve been saying in the dressing room, ‘Why should it end?’
“We’re really up for it, and we have a good mindset going into it after last week. It’s an exciting and historic stadium, and we’re looking forward to walking out as a group.
“Hopefully, the fans turn up in their numbers to show their support.”
Since defeat in the 2023 edition of the competition, Rangers have swept all before them in the Scottish Cup.
Hearts were defeated in the 2024 final, while Glasgow City were vanquished 12 months ago in a terrific display from the Gers in Mount Florida.
After last weekend’s frustration at Petershill Park, Docherty says she’s glad the side has an opportunity to make amends and head into the summer with that familiar feeling of silverware.
She added: “If you had asked me last week that it would be the last one before we break up for summer, I’d be gutted, so we’re very fortunate and lucky that we have the chance to really bounce back, and there is no better occasion than a Scottish Cup final against your rivals.
“I was really honest with the group, and I said to them that they’re allowed to feel whatever they feel in order to be ready for the weekend. But come Monday, when we came in, the attitude was excellent.
“I was actually taken aback at how good the standard of training was because Sunday was a tough one for everyone.
“It’s a fixture that gets a lot of noise. We know we need to focus on ourselves.
"It will be a tough game, as they always tend to be, and we need to make sure we’re doing the basics well in order for us to perform.”
